Israel Action Center at the JCRC of Greater Boston

Applications are now being accepted for a paid internship at the Israel Action Center at the JCRC of Greater Boston.

Israel Advocacy & Communications Intern
Under the supervision of the Director of the Israel Action Center, the Israel Advocacy & Communications Intern is responsible for coordinating the Weekly Israel Update, a weekly online publication of the JCRC with a distribution of over 2,000.
Specific duties include:
Develop outline for Weekly Israel Update Write features and edit content Participate in weekly editorial meetings Develop and implement a strategy to increase distribution and interactivity of the Israel Update Outreach to community institutions and organization to include their Israel-related events in the Weekly Israel Update
Working with the Webmaster, ensure that content on Web site and in Update is consistent and timely Format articles and content appropriately Research publications to determine content of Weekly Israel Update Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

High level of computer savvy and comfort Excellent writing skills College undergraduate or graduate student Background in either Journalism/Communications/Media technology and/ or Middle Eastern Studies/Political Science/Judaic Studies Working knowledge of Israeli and Jewish history/culture/tradition preferred Knowledge of local community organizations and initiatives Ability to prioritize and multi-task Strategic thinker Good organizational skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work 15-25 hours per week This is a paid internship.

Hamagshimim is the University and Young Adults' Movement of Hadassah.
Our programs allow students and young adults to enhance their relationship
with Israel by providing them with ways to return and travel to Israel,
bring Israel on campus, and provide a cross-country network of Zionist
activists.

WUJS Institute in Arad - The WUJS Institute in Arad is a creative and exciting opportunity for Jewish college graduates ages 21-35 from all over the world to be immersed in life in Israel. Our main program includes intensive Hebrew instruction and courses in Jewish studies and Israeli politics, history, and society taught by an outstanding faculty. We also offer two specialized tracks: Peace and Social Justice (which includes an internship at one of many Israeli organizations working for social change) and The Arad Arts Project (a specialized residency for artists of all kinds). Amirim - Amirim is a four or six week summer program where college students and young professionals live with other volunteers and contribute to the local community. Amirim is a unique program that provides structure as well as the freedom to experience Israel on your own. The program includes volunteer placement in Tel Aviv, weekly trips around Israel, evening cultural and enrichment programs, and a three day hike at the end of each session.

Mesamnei Shvilim - Mesamnei Shvilim is Hamagshimim’s Leadership Delegation to Israel where student leaders from various American universities travel around Israel on a unique study tour that explores domestic challenges from an Israeli perspective.
